NIGERIAN ARMY CALMS PANIC IN DAMBOA, MAIDUGURI
The
Nigerian Army on Wednesday called for calm in Maiduguri after hours of
shootings were heard in the outskirts of the town in the evening, resulting in
panic around Damboa road, Old G.R.A.
Lt.-Col. Kinsley Samuel, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations Department, said in a statement in Maiduguri that the situation was under control.
He said “the situation in Maiduguri is under control. The public is requested not
to panic but to stay calm".
