(LIFE SAVERS) NAFOWA SKILL ACQUISITION PROGRAMME IN PORT HARCOURT



In sustenance of efforts at reducing unemployment among women and youths in the country, the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) has inaugurated a skill acquisition and vocational training programme for 150 women and youths at the 115 Special Operations Group Port Harcourt. The trainees, who were mostly widows, orphans and dependants of deceased NAF personnel, will be empowered with requisite skills to make them self-reliant and economically productive.
In her speech at the occasion, the NAFOWA National President, Hajiya Hafsat Sadique Abubakar, urged the 150 participants to take the training seriously and apply themselves towards obtaining impressive results. Mrs Abubakar also encouraged them to work hard and see the training as an opportunity for greater achievements.
The skill acquisition and vocational training programme, which is in support of the Federal Government’s pledge at curbing youth unemployment, has been successfully actualized in four NAF Bases in Lagos, Makurdi, Kaduna and Maiduguri. As a result, over 600 women, youths and widows have benefited from the empowerment programme since inception.

On the day of my interview I received a stroke from the then P.A to the Commandant; then Corporal Okeke (my respect and love to you sir); this soldier “no dey send oh, he dey flog both pikin and mama then for the sake of discipline”. It didn’t end there, I was even flogged a week after resumption for not having a white teeth (lol).

OSAMCA03' REUNIOUN!!!

LOL...., it have been hilarious all through.It been such a wonderful day for the Old students association of marist comprehensive academy uturu class 2003. Sure! they had fun in the dinner night held in the Piccadilly suites hall, Lekki,VI, Lagos. 20 years! I must confess, it really been long since this class had been together, having fun this way. It had really been emotional and humorous thanks to the MC-Soyibibo (Kabal) "The mischievous but Intelligent OSAMCA". however, dignitaries like their seniors and principal- Christopher  Onwuasanya were invited to the occasion. The principal expressed his joy and satisfaction in the class during his speech. Finally, the principal was advised by the class to help the school get back to its high status in Education among other schools.   They are reciting the school anthem like old days.
