(WHISTLE BLOWING) BEWARE! RENOWNED CHEF IN UNN CALLS SUPER CHEF’S “UNN CHEF COMPETITION SEASON 2” A FRAUD!
The competition which was first held in the year 2015 at Marlima restaurant, which is in the multi-activity complex University of Nigeria, Nsukka has been painted black by a popular and renowned chef in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka known as Chukwuebuka.Below is an interview of Chukwuebuka by our Correspondent;
SKYLYN:
Apart from the “UNN CHEF COMPETITION” have you been in any other?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
Yes
SKYLYN:
Which
one?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
A departmental chef competition
SKYLYN:
What was the outcome?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
I won
SKYLYN:
How did you know about the “UNN CHEF COMPETITION”?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
I saw the flyer posted on the wall, that was how I knew about the competition
and I applied for same 3500 naira.
SKYLYN: How was the organization of the competition to you?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
Well... it was a caricature, right from the beginning they were not organized,
they didn’t know what they wanted us to do, they kept on saying this and that, in
fact, we were put through horrible stress, but because we were already registered
for it, we had no choice than to continue.
SKYLYN:
How far did you go in the competition?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
Well… I made it to the finals
SKYLYN:
How tough was the competition?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
It wasn’t at all
SKYLYN:
Then why didn’t you win?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
Every one that won was chosen before the competition, they evicted those that
put in seriousness and hard work. Instead of the hard working ones, archaic and
undeserving competitors were made the winners.
SKYLYN:
Was
any evicted person called back?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
Yes a girl, she took second after all. That was very abnormal.
SKYLYN:
As a finalist, were you compensated at all?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
Not at all. After all their lies, they made us provide everything which they
promise to provide even when we had no money. However, they promised that they
will provide foodstuffs and all the needed material except for costumes during
my registration but it was all a lie. Even the 300 thousand naira which was
promised to be given to the winner was not given neither was any compensated.
SKYLYN:
The 300 thousand naira was not given to the winner are you sure?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
100%. First, the winner was a close friend to the organizers, and in every
legitimate competition I know, a big bank draft is given to the winners on that
day to show that it is real, but this did not happen in “UNN CHEF COMPETITION”.
All we saw was a blender which was given to one of the winners, not even 10,000
was given to the winner who was among the pioneers but played her part as a competitor
so that it will seem real.
SKYLYN:
The season 2 is forthcoming, what is your advice to the aspirants?
CHUKWUEBUKA:
My advice to any aspirant is to be very careful because the sole purpose of
this people was to steal people’s money, seeing that they didn’t achieve that by
evicting people in the first stage they made all of them qualify to the final
stage so that their friends can buy tickets for the event. It’s sad that the
aim of the competition is not encourage passionate chefs but to enrich their
own pockets. I see this forth coming competition as a season 2 of what they did
the last time, I pray they have repented, but you aspirants should make own
research carefully before applying, for I see this as another fraud, who knows,
the winner might have already been chosen and all they want is for you to pay
your money for nothing.
there is no money and people are stil duping
